Lion ewe lambed! ~ February 6th, 2011!

Well, I am trying to catch up on all the lambings we have had over the past several months. Lion ewe (as we call her, because she looked like a lion when we first got her), is a VERY nice and big Desert Sand ewe we have. She lambed to a VERY BIG single chocolate and white ewe lamb on February 6th, 2011. From what I remember, I noticed that she was in labor earlier that day, so I had been checking on her on and off for a little while. She was in a stall out back off the house. I was doing something and then somebody checked on her and said that there was a bubble. So, I went in the stall with her. She had her fine with no complications, I didn't have to pull it. The dam is a BIG Desert Sand ewe (Lion ewe) and the sire is a HUGE 40" horned Texas Dall ram. We are planning on keeping the eweling for a breeder, and we call her Jersey, because she looked like a little Jersey when she was born.

Here are some pictures ~

Here are some pictures of when the lamb (Jersey) was born.

Not the Jacob, it is the ewe laying down.

Here are some more pictures of Jersey.

This is Lion's udder. She has a VERY nice and BIG udder. It has a GREAT attachment and it is also shaped VERY nice.
