New lamb born Thursday!!

Well, Thursday, July 28th, 2011 we had a beautiful little ewe lamb born. Early Thursday morning mom looked out in the front yard where we keep pregnant goats and sheep and our bottle babies (we call it the nursery! HAHA), she saw that Spot had a lamb on the ground. Mom came and woke me up and told me that Spot had a little lamb . . . .I got up and went out there, and sure enough, Spot had a BEAUTIFUL chocolate and white colored ewe lamb next to her. Both her sire and dam are Katahdins. Her dam is Spot, she is not registered but is %100 Katahdin. The lambs sire is a registered Katahdin ram, named Louie

Here are some pictures of Spot's lamb taken by my sister ~

Poor tired little baby!

New Arrivals

Well, its been a little while since I posted last. So, I'm just doing a quick post for now. We just got back home a few hours ago or so with a lot of birds and 3 NEW Jacob sheep! They are really nice and big. Two of them are ewes and one is a wether. The wether has two horns, his name is Little Bit. One of the ewes has three horns, her name is Sophia. And the other ewe has four horns, her name is Izzy. They are all VERY nice. I plan on shearing them  in the next week or so.

Here are some pictures of them ~

New Sheep Shearing Scissors

After watching my daughter spend hours shearing a few of the Finn lambs we have with several dull pairs of scissors, I ordered a new pair of sheep shears. Here are pics of the first time she used them:
